Was all good until the food arrived. 2 thinly sliced heavily fatty raw/super rare and strangely powdery lamb (medium rare apparently). Beef gravy with the roast chicken. Staff undertrained/unaware. £7 for bread.
Extortionate pricing for a below average meal. it's a conveyorbelt of roasts.. how do you fk it up? Potato's were OK and the carrot was good.
First time I've ever asked for the service charge to be removed.
Plenty of much better options around town.

This is a beautiful restaurant in a lovely, feminine setting above Borough Market. The prices are very high for small servings, but I will say the quality of the roast chicken was delicious. For fine dining prices though, the wait staff were very inexperienced which was very annoying; I.e I had to ask for chicken gravy for roast chicken three times as they kept bringing beef gravy, the young server (lovely, but...) being confused by my ask and kept telling me 'gravy is gravy'. £7 for bread. My partner ordered his lamb medium rare and it came out totally pink at a cost of £36.00 (and literally about 3 mouthfuls of meat). I would skip a roast here and maybe try the high tea if you want to experience the setting without being let down by food/experience with an extortionate price tag.

I went to Roast for my friends 60th, afternoon tea. One of the best afternoon teas in London, superb, even incudes scotch egg & sausage roll. I will definately return.

Food was ok but priced at the high end and therefore not worth it. Wine list was also veering on the very expensive with few bottles under £60.
Vibe was nice, with waiters a little intrusive.

Went for a Sunday roast. Food was lovely but no better than the roast you could get in a good pub.
It was very busy and the wait for food was long which didn't bother us, but the waiting staff were either rushing us or completely absent.
It didn't feel very relaxed for a Sunday lunch. It felt like they were trying to hurry us to make up for the slow kitchen and big queue.
Pudding was cold and when sent back, arrived exactly the same again.
Not worth the price.

Food was extremely average, and comically overpriced. No greeting upon arrival or goodbye upon departure - staff just blanked us. It made us laugh. A two hour wait for our food. Menu is small and all the food is sat under heaters like a school canteen, so not sure what took so long. When one of the £45 chateaubriand’s arrived, it was cold and chewy, it was sent back but not without some awkward pushback from the waitress/manager? We were given another but it was the same…
Avoid at all costs.

I couldn’t attend the reservation which I made 2 hours prior, due to my son being sick. I called twice but there was no answer.
I was attending as a single mum with my 2 year old and 5 year old and they charged me £90 for not attending. I’d never ever have spent £90 had I gone!!
I contacted them and they stood by their decision.
I’ll never eat here and I’ll do my best to make sure others don’t. Unfair and greedy

Felt quite pretentious overall. Food was subpar relative to the price (the yorkshires were quite burnt, dessert was also very watery and unappetising)
Service wasn’t great also - messed up our drinks orders also
The venue and location is great, however

Un restaurant excepcional, amb una gran qualitat en el producte i un ambient de luxe; però sobretot un servei espectacular de l’Oriol, que ens va recomanar un molt bon vi. Gràcies, Oriol!

Food tasted okay, but took a long time to arrive. Some got their food before us even though they came after us. My wife's toast and eggs were cold when they did finally arrive- they must've been sitting there for a while. Didn't bother asking for a remake on the eggs as we were hungry and didn't want to wait a long time again. The male staff members that served our table were great. The female ones were the opposite - some were very curt, rude, unwelcoming and overall seemed like they didn't want to be there.
I couldn't possibly recommend this place.

If you're in for a Sunday roast or an afternoon tea, this place is just great. Situated in and above Borough market, it's perfect for some fine food, good wines, very friendly staff and, depending on your taste, the decoration is just beautiful.

Food was just ok for the price. There are two different types of chairs and the wooden chairs are extremely uncomfortable.
Staff was nice and attentive, didn’t feel rushed and refilled water etc.
Feels a little cramped in there, and it gets really busy.
Food was not it. The wellington meat was great, but crust and mashed potatoes weren’t anything special for what they charge.
Prawn cocktail is a joke, tiny pieces, more salad and sauce than anything.
I wouldn’t go back and there are much better places in the same area. A shame because it has potential.

We went for Sunday Roast.
Location was in the heart of Borough market (restaurant overlooks the market)
Food was excellent - the roast potatoes were devine, the meat tender etc
The service was excellent. Seems very well staffed and they were helpful regarding allergies (in our case lactose intolerance).
What surprised us was how good the cocktails were (almost as good as some of our favourite cocktail bars).
(see pics for recommendations).
It would have been an easy 5 stars except for 2 small oversights on their part - so this is intended as feedback:-
1. They forgot our carrots and we had to ask for them.
2. The prices on the bill were slightly different from the menu - although worth the prices, still misleading and needs improvement on this kind of attention to details
Overall excellent experience and not too pricey for the type of food, service and location. We will return soon.

It is a lovely setting with a great atmosphere but it seems terribly overpriced. The food was OK but it was nothing special. The service was great.
We paid £174 for one starter, two main courses and one of their cheaper bottles of wine which was nearly £70 and, of course, subject to their standard service charge. I checked retail price of the wine to find that it is £14.50. This seems like a totally unreasonable markup.
